In the late 80s-early 90s, Sezam was the most popular BBS in former Yugoslavia. Before internet became widely available, BBS were one of the main means used for downloading software, exchanging e-mail and creating discussion forums.
Sezam was based in Belgrade, but until late 1991 had users all around former Yugoslavia. Most of them were young people with technical formation. Most of them were Western-oriented. Almost all of them were heavily influenced by the situation and its evolution. Reading the messages they exchanged between 1989 and 1991 we can go back to former Yugoslavia’s past and better understand what and why.
