In cooperation with partner organizations, Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Banjaluka marked the International Day of the Human Rights yesterday. In “Incel” which once was a gigantic factory, a series of activities took place to point to continuous breach of human rights in BiH. At a debate “Human Rights in Balkans Way” in evening hours the participants reminded of the most often breach of human rights in this country. A special attention was given to the lack of political will to implement the Sejdić – Finci verdict as well as other issues indicating the level of protection and affirmation of human rights in BiH.
Many brochures and promotional material were available at info counters for free legal of Transparency International, RS Union Confederation and Ombudsman for RS Children. Representatives of Transparency International responded to citizens’ questions. Cases of corruption could be anonymously reported to a special box.
Marking the December 10th lasted until late evening hours with DJs MaRie CheRie and Joma Maja. Entry was free. Visitors brought candies which will be used for New Year’s packages for children at orphanage “Rada Vranješević” and Banjaluka Safe House for children and women victims of domestic violence.
