Under the overall guidance of the National Program Officer (NPO), and the direct supervision of the Senior Project Associates/ Project Coordinators, the Project/Field Assistant will support the implementation of different project activities under the Pillar for Social Cohesion and Resilience implemented in wider Krajina Region and the identification of new community engagement and social cohesion opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Support the overall implementation and monitoring of project activities.
- Support administrative coordination of project implementation, involving liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate payment requests, obtain necessary approvals and clearances, and follow-up on administrative actions, etc
- In coordination with Pillar’s units for social cohesion and resilience monitor activity level implementation; monitor activity impact in the community; ; obtain necessary approval and update activity implementation related information.
- Be responsible for day-to-day project correspondence, support information sharing between sub-office and Sarajevo office and take appropriate follow-up actions.
- At field level, liaise with potential / actual partners to advance the implementation of diverse projects implemented under the Social Cohesion and Resilience pillar in accordance with the different project objectives.
- Provide weekly context updates on emerging issues in the municipalities, especially in relation to community resilience and social cohesion.
- In coordination with Pillar’s units for social cohesion and resilience support organization of meetings, workshops, and training sessions, as required by different projects.
- Respond to general information requests and inquiries from the pillar’s units.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- High-school diploma with 4 years of relevant working experience; or Completed university degree from an accredited academic institution preferably in the field of social science, political studies focused on community engagement with 2 years of relevant working experience
Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Experience
- Prior experience in similar positions involving community work and liaison with community stakeholders.
- Prior experience with monitoring project activities focusing on provision of social services to migrants and referral mechanisms within the social protection sector.
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
- Experience in working with local communities on social cohesion is an advantage.
- Proven experience on preparation of written reports in an accurate and concise manner
Skills
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Able to prioritize work, multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Good oral and written communication skills in both English and local languages.
- Knowledge of financial and procurement rules and procedures.
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Windows and MS Office applications (especially Excel).
- Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility, responsibility, integrity, teamwork, self-motivated.
- Able to work with little supervision, focused, well organized, detail oriented.
- Valid driving license
- Willingness and ability to conduct travel whenever needed
Languages
For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written) and in one of the three official languages spoken in BiH.
